Notes: These etchings were produced in imitation of his original chalk drawings. Wood, John George, or Rev J. G. Wood, was an artist of considerable talent, and a lecturer on Perspective and the art of Drawing. Also a very prolific writer on natural history, though rather as a populariser than as a scientific investigator, and was in this way very successful.
