Notes: A view of the water engine built above a well in Cold-Bath-Field's Prison in Clerkenwell. The prison was notorious for its severity and housed the Cato Street Conspirators in 1820 Published in Ackermann's famous work, the 'Microcosm of London', the figures were drawn by the famous caricaturist Thomas Rowlandson and the architecture by Augustus Pugin.
